couple quick holley questions

4160 600 Vacuum secondary holley on a band x 289... in drive if you punch it, is has a sweet bog, but if in 1st the bog is not there, so basically runs fine if there is a heavy load, but hesitates if in drive or if free revving in park

there is less load in 1st gear , sound like you need a slightly larger squirter to get more fuel in as the throttle is opened , Holley has numerous choices , try stepping up to the next sixe , you should hae a .25 0r .27 now, do not go too big or you are just wasting fuel
