Help me pick out rims
« on: October 31, 2008 - 12:57:32 PM »
I have 14" Rallyes on my 70 Challenger convertible,  I am trying decide on going with a wider profile tire in the back on the 14" rallyes (least expensive ) Find a set of 15" rallyes (fill the wheel well better and keep stock look) Go with chrome rims 15" maybe even 16".  Any suggestions or pics would be appreciated.

If you post some pics of your car, it'll be a little easier to offer suggestions.

FWIW - I think Rallyes always look good.

Keep in mind, if you go with a wider profile tire on the 14" rims, then the tire will be shorter in height, which might cause the car to sit funny.   :dunno:

In going cheap, I have 14X6" Rallys on the front of my car with 70 series 225 tires. I wanted a bigger look in the back, so I put 15X7" Rallys back there. The tires are 60 series, 255 tires. It turns out they are the same height as the front tires, but with a bigger rim, and being a wider tire...It gives an illusion that I have something bigger back there.   :naughty:

I have the Magnum 500s on my 68 Charger and I like them but prefer the look of the rallye rims on challengers,  I have American Racing outlaw II polished rims on my 73 charger and I really like these.  I may put those on my Chally to see how it looks?

Wheel Vintiques makes a chrome Rallye wheel.  It's not my favorite, but it might be worth a look...
