Well, here are some better pics:

Personally, I can't see any lettering of any kind. I noticed that it's flattened on the bottom, which makes me wonder all the more if a working man worse this.

Looks like it was someones daily driver for sure. There is no way to tell without doing an acid test on it but it looks to me to be silver. Looks like oxidized Sterling Silver. Might be a really old rhodium plating but again, no way to tell without testing it. Sure it cool though. If you have an old pool cue you can try slipping it down on the shaft and using a rubber or rawhide mallet to straighten out the shank. If you dont have a cue you can go shoot a couple of games of snooker or pool and use theirs

:iagree: That's what I was thinking. Some kind of 5-year award or something like that.

Looks like a Star of David.

So were the Dodge Bros Jewish? I didn't think so. Or Occultists maybe? ???

I've heard at least three different versions of why they chose that symbol:

1. It's really not a Star of David but two triangles, one black and one white, symbolizing the joining of the two brothers in a business venture. Possibly each triangle symbolizes a Greek Delta, for the first letters of their last names.
2. They weren't Jewish, but it was chosen as a symbol to tick of Henry Ford, who hated Jews. (If you're ever around Detroit there's a little suburb named Inkster. Legend has it that the name came from Ford because of all the blacks living there.)
3. One of the brothers was a law enforcement fan, and since Sheriffs since the old West had worn six-pointed stars that was chosen as the symbol for Dodge.

One, two or all three, who knows?  :dunno:

Personally, I think it's neat as hell.  I also can't assume value, though I'd think to the right person it could be worth quite a bit.

It definitely look like it's seen better days.

I could believe that.

It is also one of the explanations listed in Wikipedia for the Star of David.

The exact origins of the symbol's relation to Jewish identity are unknown, though several theories have been put forward. According to one hypothesis[citation needed], the Star of David comprises two of the three letters in the name David. In its Hebrew spelling (דוד), it contains only three characters, two of which are "D" (or "Dalet", in Hebrew). In the Paleo-Hebrew alphabet, the standard alphabet for writing Hebrew before the Babylonian captivity, this letter was written in a form much like a triangle, similar to the Greek letter Delta (Δ), with which it shares a sound and the same (4th) position in their respective alphabets, as it does with Latin. The symbol may have been a simple family crest formed by flipping and juxtaposing the two most prominent letters in the name

I'm just not a jewelry person. Anything I'm wearing I fuss with constantly. Even a wristwatch. I thought about getting a pocket watch, but it's a lot harder to check the time in a meeting without being obvious

I agree with you on that. I am not much of a jewelry person either. I have a watch also, very nice watch. I bet I have wore it 3 times in the 5 years I've had it.
