Aluminum Bell Housing
« on: November 14, 2008 - 08:00:12 PM »
What does everyone do to detail the bell housing?  Do you paint it?  Leave it natural?  Mine is kind of dirty, if I am not going to paint it, do I sandblast it or will that damage it?  I don't know what to do at this point.  It is going to mated to a 340 with Aluminum heads and intake. and a 4-speed that is painted cast iron color.   :clueless:

Thanks for your inputs.

Jeff

If you clean and either leave natural or spray silver it will look better, originally the bellhousing was attached when MOPAR spray painted the engine. If you are leaving the Aluminum heads natural match the bell housing, its not a points scoring car after all.

Or if you are really bored, use a large stainless steel wire brush over the whole thing then clear it.
