deputy fixed quarter windows
« on: November 05, 2008 - 02:31:21 PM »
Hi Y'all,

I'm piecing back together my 1970 challenger deputy, but I have no idea on how to install my fixed quarter windows, since the car was converted to the regular style with regulators.
Does anyone have a clue or maybe even some pics?\

Thanks,

Antoon

I am curious what the fender tag readout is on  your challenger with fixed rear windows.

Somebody here has to have pics of those windows.

  Good Luck!

It's a 1970 challenger with the A93 coupe package, aka a deputy challenger.

I wish I could help you- Chally is tucked wawy for the winter!!!

it's been 7 years but the window has the bottom piece of steel- not 100% sure- but think it is the same as a rollup. it then mounts into another pice of steel the bolts to the body.
sorry!!! can't remember much else!!

I was kinda hoping you'd be the one to help me :-\.
No worries however, I'll figure it out. I allready know the window itself is the same as a standard one, and the original track also stays in place, the two are somehow bolted together. I think I'll make some shims or a bracket to make it happen.
If someone has pics, please don't hesitate to post them.

Thanks and best regards,

Antoon

I checked all my stuff when I read the thread last night. If I have anything here that shows it, I can not find it.

It may be shown in the 1971 Challenger FSM? I do not have one so I can not check......

I also put an add on the moparts site, and one guy knew the awnser, though he didn't have a picture.
The standard window is used on the standard track. the black plastic thingy that attaches the regulator to the window bracket is maintained except for the regulator offcourse, the white two piece slider is replaced by a bolt and washer to secure the window in the top position.
This makes sense to me, so I think I'll try it this way.
If anyone would like to see a pic of the result I can post them here.
