I would change it to 70. It would be alot cheaper than going out and buying a 70. The head an tail lights just look so much better, IMO.
If I wanted a 70 and had a 74 I would do it.

my reasoning is this..
1. i already have an almost rust free 74
2. i like the front and rear styling of the 70
3. my interior is already done and i dont care about the minor differences between the 70-74
4. i am kind of attached to my 74 since ive had it for 15 years already, plus it was my second car (my barracuda beat it out by 1 year, i still have it too)
i cant believe all the panels they are replacing on the challenger in the magazine..  :dunno:
is it common to be replacing that many panels?? :clueless:
out here a car in that condition would be a parts car..
...
but i do agree it is alot of work and im sure the grille pieces and the taillights are going to cost a fortune .. so maybe i will throw an rt rear spoiler on it with some rallye side louvres and stripes and call it done...
thanks for the input..

I'm converting my 74 to 70 I have most the parts and it's really not that expensive, I'm in. Four hundred for the grill four hundred for the headlight bezels, 400 for the rear panel with lights. I'm missing the front and rear bumpers five hundred, front and rear bumper brackets, side market patch panels two hundred, but after seeing the year one challenger. I think I should have kept it 74. That year one challenger is bard ass

I didn't vote, but I feel that you should make it what you want. Money aside, it's your car. Now if the car were an original unmolested highly optioned anything (340, 440, 4 speed, drop top ect) I would be inclined to keep it original. But again. It's your car. The only one you have to please is YOU!!!! Just my  :2cents:

There was a member here that made the sidemarkers "Flush" so they were inset. Looked good. Also, Toms car is an Orange 72 and looks mean with the blacked out grille.... makes it almost look like a 70....
