I see the fires have started up again in Ca.

Seems every winter the Ca. people have to endure fires. I just saw on the morning new 1/4 of a town called Montecito has been evacuated. Sorry to hear that story. Please be careful

over 100 homes lost so far in Montecito. Sounds like the winds are calming down, they were worried if the winds continued it would move into Santa Barbara proper. Fairly common occurrence for the Santa Ana's to come up anytime from September until the end of November, and since SoCal gets so little rain its really a year round fire season down there.

Yeah, we've been pretty lucky down here this year - so far.  That's especially nice after all the craziness of last year and 2003.  It's promising to be dry and windy again this weekend, so we're crossing our fingers.  We did get some good rain last weekend and the week before, so it's not too dry up in the mountains.  :-\
