by any chance can the tail shaft be switch with an auto from a 2x4 tranny, for the transfer case. if not can any parts be used the 727 is rebuilt ?

i'm wanting to say that the internal shaft is shorter...so you would have to tear into the tranny...but not sure...chryco might know..

the 2wd drive tranny has a longer tailshaft then the 4X4 version , virtually all parts will interchange between the 2wd & 4X4 except the tailshaft & rear housing though assuming both are the same model tranny 727 or 518 etc
