Rear window channel stud rivets
« on: November 29, 2008 - 03:17:00 PM »
Anyone zap rivets onto their repro dutchman? Would like to hear what other available options are out there to weld them on. The gun copper grounding is too big around to get a good angle to put them on.

I usually just drill the hole & use a screw to hold the clip in place

When I worked in my Dads BS years ago I tried the stud gun but they weren't v. strong. The journeyman ground them off and put in screws. Then he cussed me out and said: "go sweep up the paint booth"....I miss those days...

I used screws on my 71 Challenger back in 1993 and have not had any issues with them since putting them in.
