Anyone in Rhode Island?
« on: December 05, 2008 - 03:27:33 PM »
There is apparently a bone yard that is about to get crushed (so the story goes).  There are a lot of cars, many Mustangs but I did see a couple Chargers, one Cuda and some a-body Barracuda's in the pictures not to mention some big Mopar iron and trucks.  Large variety and the aerial photos show that there have to be hundreds of vehicles in the trees.

As with many of these, who knows how true it actually is.  Just thought I'd let somebody on the other side of the country know as I'm in Oregon.

See the article here:  http://www.mustangforums.com/forum/classic-mustang-general-discussion/498652-largest-mustang-junkyard-nobody-knows-of-is-crushing-everything.html

Anyone know about this?  Looking closer at the post, it was from a member who as posted 6 times.  This might be some type of advertisement or something.  Maybe someone nearby can actually validate.

I have been to that yard; the owner’s name is Junior. The description of the yard and owner at the link you posted is accurate; the place is huge, unorganized and the owner is difficult at best. The place is bizarre; you enter from a back road into a driveway that looks like a trail into the woods. The yard has no office or buildings of any kind. The phone is located in a wooden box attached to a pole. The amount of cars in the woods is amazing; I walked around for over three hours and maybe saw a quarter of the yard. I was there about 8 years ago; it was mostly Ford stuff, a lot of Mustangs. He did have a few Mopars; I don’t recall many e-bodies. I was told by a reliable source that he had a Shelby Mustang and a 70 Hemicuda body, but I didn’t see either car. If you are in the area it is worth visiting. The owner let my buddy and I walk around by ourselves; and my buddy bought rear interior panels out of a 69 convertible Satellite that day. The Mustang website states that he escorts you now. If you look hard you can make out the yard from Interstate 95 southbound in the fall and winter.
Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him and He will do it.

The Coolest most interesting thing about a junkyard some times is meeting the junkyard owners,,, they are out there :clueless:........  I sure would like to know what the secret is to having several hundred acres of land covered with junk and no job :dunno:,,,,,,, a real independent way of life but how do they do it?   And what has more value the scrap metal the good parts the land or the cost of a major ecological clean up complete with fines :22yikes:???????
