    How many square feet do you think it will take to cover the whole car? i want to cover the floor, roof, package tray, doors, rear quarters, the fire wall....etc.  Im even thinking about cover the dash frame in it as well.  I want a new car sound inside. Also another question as i see a lot of black, white, and color interior colors but whats your opinion on an like medium to light color tan in a purple car? Mostly everything will be wrapped in a leather or vinyl with a very few plastic trimed parts?  Thanks.

    Something like but maybe a little darker. Love how it gives it a newer sports car look.

    You need to concentrate on covering the floor, firewall, trunk floor, door skins and roof.

    Not much value in doing the package tray or dash frame.

    It's the large panels that propogate the noise.

    I'm in the process of doing my Cuda. Unfortunately, the headliner was already installed when I bought it, and the car is caged, so I'm not about to remove it. I've done most of the floor and plan to do the trunk next.

    I have not idea how many sq ft I've used. I was given a couple boxes of OEM scrap stuff from a friend, and I'll probably keep covering stuff until I run out.

    The reason i thought about putting it on the package tray was because i have alpine type R 6x9 and it seems to rattle and give off a pretty bad sound so i was thinking it that was the problem and that would make it a little better.

    The car stereo guys seem to like McMaster-Carr's EVA Sound Dampening Mastic Sheets (9709T39).  It's 32" x 54" and is $16.62 a sheet.

    I thought about doing grey but my trans am has a graphit/grey color and it just seems boring.

    You might want to consider something else for the roof. Temp range for that McMaster-Carr material is 0° to 150°  F. It will probably fall off when the car is in the sun.

    Yea i was wondering about the low heat range for the roof also but it will be the last part to get sound deadening to since it has a brand new headliner already installed. So the main part will be the floor, trunk, doors, and quarter panels. Anyone know how hot the firewall gets? I dont think it gets that hot since i dont feel any heat there on my legs when driving the car.

    Do you have headers? If so, are they ceramic coated? If they are, you should be fine. Plain headers can give heat beyond belief on the Hiway in the summer.   :eek7:
