The 6 digit blue plates I believe stopped in either late 71 or early 72 if that helps your origin on your Dart.
Then it went to blue plate, 7 digits.

My '71 Challenger had the crappy Cali emission controls on it; we always assumed it was originally sold there but don't know for sure.  I bought it in Las Vegas from a girl who also lived in LV.

I believe the crappy emission controls were only on cars built for sale in CA. My car also has this stuff coded on the fender tag.

  I bought my car from Kansas, however it spent most of its life I believe in las Vegas even though it was built at Hamtrack. But now it is showing MOPAR glory in Vic.   :aussie:

My 70 Cuda was built in LA and I believe it was sold there as well.  I have DMV records that show the car being registered in CA from 1988 to 1995.  The records don't show info earlier then 1988 so I'm not sure if they don't keep records back that far or if the car came into the state at that time.
