"cash for clunkers"
« on: December 19, 2008 - 02:33:18 PM »
people. its on its way back. not that it ever died.  "cash for clunkers". If you ever wanted to get involved now is the time. if you do nothing at this point other than just being informed then that is a start. be aware of what is coming down the pike.  get ready for a fight... first your car then your gun. dont think for a moment its not possible. and if you do nothing then it really is over.

What a moron, "beware of the classic car owners." I'll bet he causes more pollution with whatever he drives compared to what I do with all of my classic cars. I drive my Challenger as my daily driver (except for right now due to a bad transmission but that is another story) and I put less than 2500 miles a year on it (3 mile commute to work). I like the mustang owner who told carb to give him 20k for his car. They can jump in a lake if they think they will take my classics away. As with my guns they can have it when they pry it from my cold dead fingers.

Eh, there's other stuff that causes more harm to the environment that they could be focusing on, IMO...  :screwy:

This stuff has had me concerned for some time. I wonder if the day will ever come. Hopefully there's enough important people with classics to prevent an effort of this type.

They should do a Gladiator show of the Restos vs. the Greenies.

Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

Mr. Motavelli made this statement in an interview (not on this exact topic, but I hope there would be a common theme to his articles)

from http://www.satyamag.com/dec01/motavalli.html

...."After reading E Magazine, in what general ways do you hope readers will be inspired or educated?
(Mr. Motavelli) I think they will learn a lot about the facts behind environmental issues, and they’ll get both sides. And they’ll get contacts at the end of our stories, so if they want to become involved on either side, they can do that. We think of it as empowering readers to both know more about subjects and to get involved in them if they want to. I try very hard to balance the stories so they’re not one-sided activist-oriented journalism.

Uh, where is the balanced info from the cash for clunkers article Mr. Motavelli?

"the number of cars over the age of 25 on our roads is really quite small...and most cars that age are driven less than a thousand miles per year." and a lot of "junkers" are not even driven at all so where is the big "green" benefit? MORONS!

I would like to have the money to lose. I would buy a bunch of these so called green cars, smash them with the dozer. I would haul them in to the cash for clunkers site, just to see the look on their faces. I bet you would get a look, that would be priceless  :roflsmiley:

WOW!! $500 per car?? My buddy has a junkyard full of 'em. Maybe 300 old junkers from the '80's and '90's. $150,000 would buy a nice 'Cuda!!
