A couple of people had questions about the OD section bearing upgrade so I thought I would post the info again.
When the 518 came out in '90,it was a non lock up version till around '91 1/2. The early model version had a 100% failure rate to the OD section bearing due to lack of lube.
Chrysler added this hole to the intermediate shaft around '93/'94,it flows lube oil (fluid) right out to the bearing area that was failing. This hole and larger bearing upgrade should be done to ALL early A500 and A518's that have not had it done to. It usually takes a Cobalt or Titanium drill bit to drill into the shaft to add the hole.
This is the hole that was added. This is the smaller original bearing
The upgrades larger diameter bearing/retainer.
Side by side comparison.
