Converting MSD to Chrome Box question
« on: December 25, 2008 - 03:49:19 AM »
We have been having issues with the ignition on a 440 in my Dart.  I am planning to convert a full MSD ignition over to the Mopar chrome box but still retain the MSD distributor and coil, but I cannot figure out which ballast resistor to use.  Has anyone tried this before?

I was doing some reading and someone suggested using the .25 ohm resistor, but they were using the MP distributor.  Would this be the same for the MSD distributor and coil?

the MSD coil requires a low Ohm ballast resisitor .75 or less when not being fired by a MSD ign box

Sweet.
If I looked it up correctly MP has a .50 and .25 resistor, which one would you suggest?

I guess I was misinformed about the .50 resistor because I cannot find it for sale, but I do see that everyone is selling the .25 resistor.  Do you think this would be too low?
