A/C vs. non A/C firewall question

I'm going to be turning an A/C Cuda into a non A/C car.  I know they have different firewall configurations.  But what is this hole for?  Is it needed?  I'd like to only replace the area of the firewall where the the blower motor and lines are run from a non A/C junkyard car.  But if I need that hole for something, I'm thinking replacing the whole firewall would be the way to go.  Anyone done this before and have any tips they can offer?

That hole is for the driver's side floor vent that lets in fresh air.

AC Challengers (and I assume Barracudas) didn't have that air vent on the drivers side. So cut it out and blank it off flush.

Roppa440:  Mine is an A/C Cuda and doesn't have hole either.

Leads me to another question...  Did non A/C cars all have dirver's side floor vents or was it an option?  Did the passenger ever get a floor vent (OK, two questions  :icon16:)?

If you put a vent in that area, make sure that you build up a collar around it like that.  If not, you will get a LOT of water in the driver's side footwell.

Hmmm, quite interesting!  I guess if your feeties got hot, you had to run the A/C!!!!   :dunno:

Actually AC cars only had the vent hole on the passenger side :2thumbs:
