What belts should I install?
« on: December 24, 2008 - 04:04:39 PM »
I'm working towards installing the interior in my Cuda. Shortly, I'm going to need to make a decision regarding what type of seatbelts to install.

Not much original about my interior. I've got a six point cage installed, and there is a mounting tab on the bar behind the seats for a harness anchor point. Seats are from a late model car (not sure what though). I don't intend to install a console.

Anchor holes in the floor are still present and usable. The shoulder belt holes are still present as well, but the cage will probably interfere with any stock-type three point harness. I've used the XV retractable belts in the past on a 71 B-body, but wasn't real impressed.

I've perused the Summit Racing catalog looking for options, but most racing type harnesses have anti-submarine straps which I really don't care to use on a street car. Never bought a racing type harness before, so I'm new to this.

I'm looking for suggestions.

I would just run what you have , you do not need to install the crotch strap but use the 3" belts with either the lever or cam lock latch designs

Well RJS is about the cheapest but there are 100 of makes , Simpson if you like brand names , I like the cam lock design better for street use over the lever design
