My 71 top on a 72 Rallye
« on: December 29, 2008 - 07:07:54 PM »
A while back I gave a buddy of mine the top off my 71 Challenger parts car. He finally put it to good use. This was the first time I have seen it installed. They did a really good job. The car had sat under a window unit refrigerated air conditioner for about 7 years. My buddy bought it a long time ago and then sold it. About 2 years ago he bought it back from the guy he sold it to. It is a pretty decent car. He has bought stuff like carpet, headliner, etc to bring the interior up to par and then plans on repainting the car in its original FE5 with a black top. Thrown in for an added bonus is his 70 Challenger that he is starting to work on also.

Nice pair. You're right, that top does look nice :grinyes: Is the 70 a 340 car?

edit: errr, i mean is the 70 an A66 car? :bricks1:

That's good to see your parts car's top was put to good use.  He has two very cool project cars, especially if the '70 is sporting its original hood & decals (V-code). :2thumbs:
1973 Dodge Challenger......................The ongoing project. (00/----\00)
1991 Dodge Stealth R/T Twin-Turbo....The sunny day cruiser (RTBoost)
1990 Toyota Celica GT Liftback...........The new daily & winter driver.
All-American Muscle: 'Cudas and Challengers...Still the Elite and always will be.

This dude has a sugar tooth for 440 six paks and T/A's. He makes all his 70's into one variation or the other. The orange car was originally a 318 B5 blue car with a 3 speed. The wrecked orange car that I posted pics of in another thread was a burnt orange 318 car with orange interior. He made it into a 440 six pak. The only original hipo engined car he has is the Rallye and it is numbers matching. As a side note the red truck in front of the Rallye has a 340 in it too.
