Tach installation/set-up question
« on: December 28, 2008 - 06:53:50 AM »
I have one of the VDO reproduction tacho's that fit into the spare instrument location on the non-rallye dash.  I am going to fit the gauge, run the wires etc but have a question about the settings on the back - it has a bank of 3 little switches and wanted to make sure they are in the correct location before re-nstalling the dash.  At the moment 1 & 2 are selected on and 3 is off.  Tacho is going on a 383/auto.  See the pics for what I'm talking about.

Also, what amperage is 18 guage wire (as per Mopar gauge instructions)?  Thanks.

Thanks Dodgeboys/Chryco - looks like the first .pdf is the correct one but I might double check with some of the numbers off the side of the gauge.  Interesting that the switch settings is different for the two different gauges - I would have thought manufacturers would try and standardise this? 1 & 2 on and 3 off for 8 cyl with coil on the first .pdf.

Didn't think to search for manufacturers instructions  - isn't the internet wonderful  :clapping:
