repro wheel opening trim for Cuda - lousy fit?
« on: July 15, 2005 - 05:10:22 AM »
I've been searching off and on for wheel opening trim for the Cuda and have had little luck. Was thinking of going with the YearOne repros. Anyone tried these? I heard they dont fit very well and/or dont look right. comments?

We got repros for the Chally.  They needed a little pursuading to fit and the holes were not in the right places.  But, once we got them on, they looked pretty nice.

The ones Keith mentioned from Laysons are probably top-of-the-line repros. Where did you get yours from Laura? The YearOne kit for the Cuda is only $125 or so

if the Challenger repros look that good, I will take a chance on the YearOne Cuda sets. Will post up pics for those interested. Wonder why the Cuda set is so much cheaper than the Chally? Year one still honors the "MOPARTS" promo code and shipping oversize via UPS ground is only $14.

Not too bad  ::)

I purchased a set from Year One several years ago, and recently fit them up; both front and rear.  The rears fit very well.  One of the front moldings was slightly off, but I simply bent it to fit.  The exposed edge looks very nice, but there are tooling marks along the flat section that the screws go through.  They are good enough for me, but I would not use them on a show car.

Are the Cuda moldings Stainless like original or aluminum?

They are aluminum. My YO moldings looked good once installed but did have to use a shrinker/stretcher to get them to fit correctly.
