also on my website, but heres what happened:
I knew it would happen. Sooner or later I'd run into a mustang, and I've pretty much been licking my chops since. Good timing too, as its been a slow year to start out with. Actually this night was a two-fer, but the Mustang is the highlight. A friend of mine wanted to go out but I didn't much feel like doing anything. So I figured Friday night, lets go trolling for ricers. Should be able to catch some action. I once stopped at a light in the slow lane of a busy intersection here in my valley. Few seconds after coming to a stop I see a mustang coming through. It was a 93ish to 98 (or whatever that gen of mustang is. I don't know the years that well.). As soon as he got into the intersection I could tell it at least had an exhaust, fancier wheels, and looked to be driven a mid-late 20 something dude. Like I said I've been waiting to pound on a mustang ever since I got the car nearly a year ago. I had planned on going straight but a few seconds later when it hit me hey dumbass that's a mustang, I hung a right and chased him down. I caught up to him and passed him by a half car length or so. We came up to another red light with cars in front of us both, but we both slowed way down to let the traffic get out a head further. Coincidence? I think not. Daisy had also been running just a tad rough that night and I don't know what this guy has under his hood. Nevertheless as soon as I heard him hit it I went hard down on the go juice. Didn't take us long to catch up to the traffic again, but I kept my lead. Don't think I pulled on him too much, but I also wasn't winding Daisy out as much as I could. I caught up to my traffic first and he threw me a wave as he blew by. Always like a wave at the end of a good race. Not a big fan of mustangs, but I know they can be wicked fast so I was happy with the night. It wasn't over though. At the light I hung a U turn to get back to where I was going. Shortly after I see something coming up from the rear fast. I didn't know what it was but I wasn't going to let him get a head. Threw Daisy into third and scooted on outta there. That was pretty much it. I slowed down again to let him catch up and then I hit it again and burned him a second time. I don't even think the car was modified so a galant is hardly worth the gas, but I didn't know until I finally let him pass. He might not even have been racing. Might have just been going fast, but it was still fun. Saw a couple of other possibilities that evening, but could never line up just right against them. Friday nights are good to go looking for trouble though.
