Did a search for this, but the pics were removed.  Does anyone still have the pics?

They were not all mounted the same way, depending on build date and probably plant. There was an illuminating discussion on this issue on Moparts recently.

My 70, built in sept 69, had these brackets to hold it on each side of the license plate. The newer repops came with a huge center bracket that bolted to the rear crossmember under the license plate. Here are pics of the brackets on my 70 and 71. I bolted my new one with the new bracket but drilled new holes to also attach it to the old brackets.

For what it's worth...My car was built in March 1970, and had those brackets.
