A guy I know had a problem with the engine going rich and fouling the plugs when in heavy rain. Due to the air filter getting wet and choking the engine. This was a big six pack scoop on a '68 Coronet though and |i don't know what type of filter element it was.

I also have hood pins on the front, no lift off hood.

right on. i was hoping that it was a lift off so i could see how you mounted the rear pins. i just got frustraited today and drilled holes in the cowl for mine

if it was a lift off, I would gladly gave you measurements and pics. takes a lot of guts to start drilling holes.  let me know how it turns out, even pics.
