changing out 70 barracuda side glass
« on: December 27, 2008 - 09:47:19 PM »
My car is a 70, it has bad scratches in the pass side quarter glass. not the door glass.

I bought a good driver pair still in the frames and all, but they are like 71/74.  So I got to pull both sets apart. I think it works, but not sure. I really wanted 70 model glass for the date codes and original

Question is..... Does this take around 4 hrs to do?  2 hrs a slide?   Just guessing, because it will put me down with pain for a few days if I do it and I am considering taking it to a glass shop and letting them do it.  I may even take the side panels, rear seat, and other stuff off so it will be in the open for them.

When I say it will hurt me, it is because I am having major trouble with the use of my hands.  I opened a jar 2 days ago and still am not over the pain yet.  Anyone wanna come do it for me

I have tried about 6 times or more just to slide the rubber piece on the quarter glass now and can't get it. My fingers keep seperating at the knuckles or something. So I gave up on that to.  I am having a hard time just doing my trade skill on my job anymore.  I am winding down and soon wont be able to do much of nothing. :faint:

Just wish I was home to help you Alan.  Been a long time since I took the side glasses out.  Not sure if I have a extra pair or not for the rear but seems like I did.  I know what you are talking about seems I am falling apart also.  Just not getting any younger for sure.  I hope I can check when I go home to see what I have.  Gordon

I could fly down & do it
there is basically just 2 bolts that attach the glass to the slide & regulator , but being different years you may have to change the rest as well , I could do both sides in about 3 hrs max

Al,
Are you talking about the weatherstrip, or setting the glass?
