A good aluminum welder should be able to fix that. Do you have one near you? (Jon boat repair people)

I wouldn't hesitate for a second to heliarc weld that tranny case. I've welded holes in piston domes, combustion chambers and even holes between chambers caused by Nitrous use in cylinder heads on the center cylinders where the exhaust valves are close together. A tranny case ain't nothin'.  :smokin:

I spent a lot more time getting the repair area clean than the last casting I tried to weld and it worked out quite well. I still pulled some "junk" out of the casting while welding, but I guess that is pretty normal with cast aluminum stuff. I definitely feel more confident about fixing castings now.
