2009 Mopars @ Englishtown (raceway park) dates?
« on: February 03, 2009 - 07:39:27 PM »
Does anyone have the dates for the Englishtown (Raceway Park) Mopar show yet?  I know its usually around the third weekend or so in May.  If so, I am working and have to put in my vacation time now so I get off for it.

"23rd Annual Mopars @ E-Town/LXForums.com Modern Mopar Muscle Nationals"

"Modern"??
No offense, but if I head down there this year, the last thing I want to see is a bunch of 4 door "Chargers" going down the 1/4  :eek4:

Anyone know what the deal is with that setup?
I really want to go, but I'm not too sure.
 :feedback:
Thanks

Damn  >:(
The last time I went to Englishtown was for the 23rd Annual
Mopar Parts Summenrnationals in 1992.
It was a blast, and it was packed.
I guess those days are over for Englishtown.
Looks like I'll find some other show to go to this year.
I wanted to got to Las Vegas again this year for the Mopars at the Strip, but things are conflicting at work with those dates  :pullinghair:
 :walkaway:

Thanks for the response ted

I went to Englishtown a couple of years back. As for show cars and the swap meet, it wasn't worth the trip.   :2cents:

Like I said earlier, I mainly go for hanging out with and catching up with other Mopar friends.  Some of the biggest downfalls for this event in years past have been the high prices for getting into the event (better bang for the buck for Carlisle) and that the weather has always been either rainy or a chance of rain for that weekend.  The lack of turn out doesn't make it worth while for a lot of the vendors to show up which also in turn hurts the attendance.  Lets face it, if you go looking for parts and there are hardly any vendors, you may as well just wait for Carlise to come and you can pretty much guarantee that it will be there.  Now I am not trying to knock Englishtown at all as there are some pretty nice cars that show up and it is one of the few Mopar only shows here in NJ or this area but I have also noticed a downward spiral in this show.

Hopefully the people at Raceway park will notice this thread and do something to return it to shows of years past.

Well, thanks for all the info guys
I have not heard too much praise for this event in the past, and you all pretty much confirmed it.
You've made my mind up  :sadwavey: :walkaway:

Now if I could just get the time off of work for Vegas again.
I've already asked.....not looking too good  :swear:

Ah yes but who will the morons be, the ones that attend cause they want to hang out with friends or the ones that run the show into the ground?
