Survived another layoff!
« on: February 21, 2009 - 07:20:58 AM »
I`m still employed for this week!  ::) We all were expecting another round as we have been extemely slow the past couple weeks and Friday was the day. They layed off one grinder and then the stockroom guy and a machinist were cut to 3 days a week/24 hrs and can use up there personal and vacation time to get there 40 hrs instead of getting layed off.Back in November I was pretty far up the ladder but the ladder keeps getting shorter and closer to me.Forecast looks grim and it may get worse before it gets better so I`m just hanging on for now.

I hope the best for you.  Been there before myself.  Not a good feeling I know but keep your chin up and things will get better.  Never know another opertunity might just show up at your door or at least I hope it will for you.  Take care Gordon

I too, was told this week that funding for my contract is out of money.  So, I may be out of work by the end of February if they don't find more money.  This could last until July first when they renew the contract.  Plus we are taking four furlough days a month as it is.

Sorry to hear that you may get laid off, let's hope both of us make it through this suckey economy.
