Yellow or green cap Group 24 battery needed for project
« on: February 26, 2009 - 06:59:53 AM »
I am trying to do a project for my garage.  Here is what I want to do.  In my garage aka "manland" (as my wife calls it,) I have my  charger, chally, tools, work bench, mini fridge with cold beverages, toaster, and microwave.  Well, in an effort to try and hide some of the appliances such as the toaster, I have come up with a thought to cover it in something.  I have thought that if I could find a used or dead original or repro correct looking group 24 battery that had the yellow or green tops, I could gut that and use it as a cover (once I neutralized the acid and got all of the lead out) for over the toaster.  Thus adding a little bit of nostalgia to my garage to go along with some of the old tin signs from back in the day.

Can anyone help me?  The battery could be one of the newer sealed batteries that has went ka-put on you also. I would just gut the inside of it out.

Thanks all.

Brian
