is it possible???
« on: February 23, 2009 - 11:34:24 AM »
is it possible to put an early model hemi in my cuda? my dad has a 392 hemi laying in the garage that is complete from intake to pan. but i wanna be sure i can still put a shaker, and 4 or 5 speed in it. i was gonna do a 340 in my car but he suggested this old hemi to make the car a little more unique. so...is it possible, has it been done, am i crazy???
i plan to leave this world the same way i came into it...by accident.

You can do it, but seriously I wouldn't for a lot of reasons. You can make a lot more power out of a big block or even a small block, the interchange isn't that easy. And you will probably catch a lot of crap at shows for putting an early hemi in an e body.

it is a difficult & expensive swap to do , the engine will barely fit as it is wider than the 426 & you will need custom headers & mounts , you could fit a shaker but it would require fabrication ,I tend to agree with above ...don`t bother
