How do I determine the Build Date for my 1970 Convertible Barracuda?

The original fender tag rusted out and was disgarded years ago.  I want to get another fender tag to complete the car.  I've got the build sheet and window sticker, but there is no build date on either.  I've determined what the tag should look like, but I'm missing the date code.

This much I know...
-I am the third owner of the car.
-My Dad bought the car in 1973 from the original owner.
-The original owner bought it from Town Chrysler Plymouth in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
-The window sticker and build sheet have the "Y14 Sold Car - Sales Bank" code.
-The car was built at the Hamtramk assembly plant.
-I have a "Delivery Date" of 5-7-70 on a warranty repair work order that was part of the paperwork that came with the car.
-I understand that the date code was stamped on the line at the time of assembly.

Would there be any clues in the options listing that might point to the manufacture date?

Could I back up...say 3-4 months from the delivery date...and guess at the manufacture date?

Is the build date that crutial...as long as it is in the ball park?

The car was an original 318 3-spd car, and is now a 340 4-spd car.  I dont care that the numbers don't match.  The car has more sentimental value than monetary value.  I just want a fender tag to complete the car...it seems incomplete without one.

Thought this might help too...the last six digits of the VIN are 319323...

None of the items will show an actual "build" date. The date on the fender tag, broadcast sheet & window sticker is the Scheduled Production Date (SPD). It is the date they HOPED to build the car when the order first entered the system. For Hamtramck cars like yours at that aproximate time of year, the car may have been built as much as three weeks prior to, or three weeks after the SPD.

Scan the broadcast sheet & email me with it if you like? I can help with the tag layout. If the SPD is missing from your sheet due to a hole or something, scan the window sticker too.

Hi Barry, i did not know things were so grim buddy, i will organise a care package immediatly, i will have to fing something that has Penguin repellant built in, it may take a little while as winter stuff is hard to find in my neck of the woods

An open fire, a skewer & BBQ sauce (when combined) make a great penguin repellant.

So you have not mastered to illusion of making penguins into canabals yet Barry....... ? very interesting, maybe you should try brush some sardine oil on the penguin meat to atract other penguins by ?
