I can see a few stress cracks in your mounts so the mounts are old & the engine could be sitting slightly lower due to this but still not a lot lower

I had to notch my hump a tad to get it up in there. About as much as yours is. I'm in a good place for pics to help. But I have an RMS front end. I had to beat on the hump to get it up in there,Just a little though. Pass. side.     I don't have any spacers in.  :clueless:       Your oil pan doesn't look quite right. Might just be me.  That steering link bent? What is holding the engine up in the back without the tranny in?  It needs to be kept up.  I can take some pics for you.    Robert.

I'm just throwing this out right now, but is the front of your engine together?  Meaning the water pump and fan.  You need to eye ball the relation to the radiator.  I bet the top of your fan is very close to the radiator face.  Another way is to place a small level on your intake manifold.  The small block intake are cut between 3 and 4 degrees from the factory and aftermarkets are 3.5 degree per information that I received from Edelbrock.

It looks to me that the engine is leaning toward the passengers side of the car and this is rotating the trans the same way. This could be causing the shifter to be miss aligned in the shifter hole in the hump.

For reason small block Cuda's have fitment issues. Yours is the 3rd small block Cuda that I have read about with same type install issues.

Have you checked your engine location?
From the center of the crankshaft to the top of the K-frame the correct distance is 5-1/4".
The engine is also offset toward the passenger-side. Measure from the center of the crankshaft to each frame rail. The
difference should be 2-1/2".

I have a BB Challenger with Keisler. When I originallly installed my trans, I didn't use any spacers and had no clearence issues. Later I added the 1" space and had to clearence the passenger side  of the tunnel.

I'm having a lot of problems fitting the Tremec into my previously automatic 71 Cuda.  I needed a lot more vertical clearance in the right side of the tunnel than the template provided, and I'm having to notch my existing crossmember.  In addition to that, the shifter tower is not centered left-to-right in the opening in the hump.  It is hitting the right side of the opening.  I'm going to have to make an adapter plate to slide the boot/bezel over.  From the installs I've seen in magazines, and what I've read from other forum members that have done this swap, this does not seem normal.  The vertical clearance issue with the tunnel, yes.  Hitting the crossmember, no.  Definitely haven't heard anyone say the shift tower was off center in the hump opening, and I even purchased an original hump hoping to avoid repro issues.

Thoughts?

Any chance I could get a look at the template? Was it difficult to get make the changes? I am planning to install a tremec in my Challenger in the near future and would be interested in any advise you might have. Thanks  :working:  :wavingflag:
