cadillac read bumper repair
« on: March 20, 2009 - 03:02:08 PM »
I'd like to know if there are any possible repair proceedures to repair a rear bumper on a 2001 Cadillac Deville DHS with sensors?
Had a cutomer in our shop today aasking if we could repair it. Called around on the locator cheapest one in the bone yards was 550, Not even going to call a dealer, but my guess would be upwards of 800
This bumper was hit jightly and pushed in with a few cracks on the corner all the way through the plastic (or whatever its made of)
Or if anyone knows of any yards in there area that may have on and shipping and cost isnt going to kill us............ Could always go that route as well.
As always,  thanks for all your help.

They make plastic repair.  Just sand it, put adhesion promoter and put it on just like body filler.  Sand it smooth, prime it and paint it.  Make sure you take out the sensors, if you paint over them they wont work anymore.

evercoat,3m,fuzor,sem have great products, but when I shop for parts, dealer is the first place I check, you'd be surprised with some of the prices, like a OEM brand new fender from dealer on 06-up Charger is like $63, yes, under $70 and  straight from the dealer ,not China junk
