70 vs. 71 stainless headlight rings
« on: March 22, 2009 - 03:43:22 PM »
My 70 cuda came in boxes. Man, I will never make that mistake again! Anyway, I am ready to install the headlamps into the buckets and realized I don't have the stainless rings that hold them in. At least I assume that's how they are secured. I see a lot of 71 rings (4 light setups) for sale but haven't found any for a 70. Can I just use a couple of the 71 rings?

Nope.   :grinno:

The headlights in the 70 are a couple of inches larger than the dual headlights in the 71.

When I put my 73 together, I realized I didn't have the trim rings either.
Luckily, I have a Ramcharger and a trail duster.  The headlight rings were the same.  I couldn't find any differences between the cuda's headlight rings and the dodge and plymouth trucks headlight rings.
1974-1979 of course.  Most any old junk yard will still have the trim rings still on the trucks.
