What is the difference between a dry and a wet compression test?
Thanks!

Dry is when you warm it up and then just turn it over. Wet, you pour some 30 wt oil in the cylinder and run the test. I usually pour about a tablespoons amount of oil in the cylinder.

if the rings are bad you will see a jump in compression with oil in the cylinder , if the valves are bad you will see marginal gain with oil
