What color grill
« on: March 13, 2009 - 09:33:50 AM »
OK, so the Cuda is due back from paint soon, and the one thing I'm on the fence about is the color of the grill, either black or silver.

So what do you think?

The car is customized, so being "correct" is not playing into this at all.

Thanks for the input!

I like the silver.

The black is nice but it looks, I don't want to offend anyone  :misbehaving: , but it looks like either they couldn't find a "correct" argent grill, it got customized, or repaired and painted black.

I think it depends on how the rest of the car is going to look, since you mentioned the car is customized.

Is that your car in the pic?  :clueless:  I see a shaker then power bulge hood...  :dunno:

The car in the 2nd pic looks to be a 70 with the grille photochopped in :bigshades:

In my defense of my argent silver vote, the thing I like best about those later year Cuda grills is the center nose part. I'm not sure the louvered part shows up well in black.   :dunno:

As Chryco mentioned, that red accent line is pretty cool.   :grinyes:

I like the argent myself.  I'm assuming you are staying with the 72+grille?

Actually neither of the cars are mine, I have been surfing for pics of a Cuda with different treatments to make sure it all goes together well.

Yes, we will be retaining the 72-74 grill.

The car will not have or get anything that wasn't offered on any year Cuda, for example, it will has '71 fenders and has the antenna hole in the front filled and moved to the rear like an AAR.
For now, it will roll on freshened up Raylle wheels with raised white letter tires.
It will have a Go Wing, as well as hood pins to keep the original power bulge hood down.
The rear marker lights were added to match the front marker lights of the 71 fenders.
All black interior, no vinyl top, and a set of custom decals made by Gary (they will be kept under wraps till I get them on and then I will post pics.)

I think that's the bulk of what she will look like.

Thanks for your input guys!

I like the silver but we saw a nice black grill treatment at a car show last summer.
