clearance problems with 340 front exhaust pipe
« on: April 28, 2009 - 07:26:59 PM »
Does anyone know an easy way to get a factory front exhaust pipe in for a 70 challenger with a 340 motor?  I am having real big clearance issues with it hitting the torsion bar.  This is a complete alluminumized kit from Acurate Exhaust.  When I called them today, they said to jack up the engine and loosen all of the mounts and engine mount brackets and to "shift" the engine over to the pass side a little.  The guy who was trying to help me said the 340 engines were off set a little about 2 1/2" to the pass. side.  Is this true?  How does members on the board here with a 340 get this front pipe in?

Thanks,

Brian
