Steering rack compatibility question
« on: March 09, 2009 - 07:06:47 PM »
Anyone tried to use a new '05 Charger rack and pinion setup?

I found one for supercheap. Wondered if it was easily done - Yeah, right.

I will assume custom bracketry, some longer tie rod ends...

Anyone?

I don't know much about the dimensions of the charger rack, although I do know that the aftermarket rack and pinion conversions for the e-body aren't that good. To get the rack to work with the stock suspension usually results in some serious bump steer, the only versions I would go with come with the aftermarket K frames as they use different suspension geometry.
