Last summer I posted how my back brakes would stop working after a week or two after I let them drip bleed (could not manually bleed them for some reason). Well I landed up replacing both wheel cylinders and that solved the problem but for the last two-three years the brake pedal needed much effort to slow the car down. Replaced the brake booster twice (under warranty), replaced the M/C twice too. Still seem weak but I could stop it. Well got the ride out of indoor storage 2 weeks ago and on the way home the brakes like hardly work once, didn't go all the way to the floor but it just barely slowed down but work right the next time. I brushed it off as sticking calipers for 3 months without use. But a few days later hotrodding in town with fresh motor oil and nice weather the darn thing had like no brakes when I tried to brake it down at an intersection (had the green light, just didn't wanna fly though the light in case a "Blue Meany" was around) ha ha.

That did it, if I had to stop it I would have been screwed. So I pop the hood and look around. Seen the only thing that never has been change was the proportioning valve. So I thought might as well. Had a muffler shop chage it. They got every fitting loose, some needed to get cherry red but the guy was able to save every line. I pumped the brakes while his kid opened the bleeder screws but the back brakes still would not bleed right. They hook up something with and air hose and like suck the brake fluid out of the back cylinders (told them  I replaced them last summer).

Well my brake pedal is very high up now and the brakes work with the lightest touch of the pedal. Could drive it barefoot now..

Got the non-adjustable one from Summit Racing made by "Right Stuff" for $75, labor to install was $120...best $200 I spent in a while

Good to hear your problem is solved...Interesting that Right Stuff fit as Summit does not list for a Dodge... What model Challey do you have & what part # proportioning valve?...this one maybe?

Yeah that is the one I got, funny it was in stock when I order it. Must have got the last one. Summit is pushing their valve I bet. I didn't go adjustable for two reasons, the muffler shop owner is around my age (45) he might be 55 but he is very good and has a 1994 Mustang with like $30,000 in to it (his kid hates it, ha ha, claims its a waste of time and money). He built it sleeper like and drives it on the street (we have cool laws and dumb cops here in Michigan) Runs 130 mph in the quarter and he has no adjustable valve, or air bags, lol. He wasn't too happy with the adjustable ones, says they are picky to adjust.

2nd all the adjustable ones are aluminum. I wanted steel since its cold and damp up here, there dew every morning but mines garage kept but still.

My ride isn't a Chally but a mutt, ha ha. a 1979 Dodge St Regis, great shape and runs great since I built it like a 1969 car. All the fittings fir but one needed an adapter, the top back line from the M/C
