the key is how fast the switch operates inside the ECU , the faster & more accurately the switch closes to ground the coil the better

That would probably be the big metal transistor that mounts onto the heat sink outside.

the MSD only multi fires the plugs up to 3000 rpm so about the time the converter locks up the MSD only fires the plug once like any other ign

True, most any HP ignition will function OK after 3,000rpm. Even an old dual point. I've used them and the Chrysler ECU's with many cars with great results. The issue for me now is staging at idle with a radical cam and a fat carb. The problem is always getting it launched with all the cylinders firing. Then there's the issue of a rev limiter. It's more convenient for me to have it built in. Mine idles better with the Digital 6 and I have the big .055" gaps and the rev limiter (2 actually) so I think it was worth the $300. It was no harder to hook up than the conversion kit. I think 4 wires? I'll have to hook up another to the nitrous solenoid to retard the timing if I ever use it. It knocks the timing back automatically when the hose is on. More convenient than manualy retarding it. I've seen some seriously screwed up motors when people forgot to do that. Better to have too much than not enough when it comes to ignition and fuel delivery.
