10 yrs ago I bought a yellow '70 R/T Challenger but the frame was pretty gone, so when I got this all fibreglass '72 shell, I had my mechanic swap the entire car from one, into the other. The only non-'70 R/T donated pieces on this car is the body, the seats (originally white, I opted for black) and the steering wheel (cuz I had three really good conditioned ones handy). Everything else is '70 R/T donated and cleaned up. The drivetrain, rear suspension, front susp. brakes...you name it.
although it is not an actual R/T car, it does have everything on/in it that makes an R/T and R/T, but the badging and the header/tail panels.
As LB says, it's a clone...although I have not badged it as an R/T, or called it one outside of my circles as to not confuse the "masses"
Heck, I once convinced a squeegy kid that it was a 1979 Dodge Aries..he went running over to his group, screaming about this AWESOME Dodge Aries he just saw...yeah, it was pretty funny.
