Spent the last couple days here in the shop working on the owners 65 new yorker.
Sat for a few years, brakes totally locked up. wouldnt start. New points, condenser, starter and a good cleaning got it going on the first hit of the key,, still runs a little rich,, that comes later
Get it on the lify and after several hours of cleaning 40 plus years of crud and build up, I notice no linkage rods except kickdown,,,, column shift with cables? i guess so, so i clean a little more and find this number on the side plate. Maybe it has some historical value,,,,,,
Trans number is 2466147-19540-9. Maybe one of you guys can I D it.
Car does have a 413 in it as well, so far I've only been able to ungrease
the casting numbers
No date code or serial numbers yet. Maybe after another fuw gaallons of degreaser and power washing
For the ge of this beast its in remarkable good condition with only some rust through on the lower rear quarters, floors, trunk, cowl area and frame rails are really solid, with only a few dents on the front left fender.
