1970 mirrors different pass vs driver's?

Should RT 1970 side mirrors be different shape driver remote vs. pasenger's?

the 70 right side mirror is a more tear drop shape & is totally different from the left mirrior as well as the right mirror for any other year

I wondered the same thing when I first got my passenger mirror.  I wonder how many I passed on at swap meets over the years because I figured they were for some other application. :banghead:

Don't feel so bad. A bodies for 70 used the same mirror heads but with different bases.
