Now, from a recent buyers perspective.
I searched craiglist for months for a car.
It amazes me how so many people post incomplete ads out there.....Post ALL the info you can about an item and then you wont get so many questions. Some sellers dont even tell ya all the info when you followup and you find out that the car was wrecked hard after you have driven 4 hours to see it based on what the ad and seller said.
If you post an email address, be prepared to deal only through email...and dont gripe when people want to ask questions via email instead of call. Photos and printed word serve a real purpose....dont grip about it, with email these days its a piece of cake. Verbal stuff is hard to keep track of when you are shopping many car ads.
I looked at what had to be a hundred cars.....both in person and thru pics etc thru email...I am sure many sellers felt I was just kicking tires....but now, months later, I have my 72 Barracuda. So I looked at 100 cars and bought #100. The first 99 people, I am sure, think I was just a tire kicker. I dont care.......its my money.
Not EVERYONE just buys on a whim...some of us take our time to see what is out there.
If you are trying to sell something these days, realize you are currently in a buyers market....by posting on craigslist you will likely get a lot of questions (some that may seem silly to you but not so silly to the buyer, who has his reasons for asking)... you want to sell your item and you may have to go out of your way to provide info sometimes to a potential seller......you arent the ONLY person out there selling the item you are selling, so if you give them a "take it or leave it" attitude, they will likely leave it.
Low ball offers etc are all part of the game...we would all like to be able to post our for sale item one time and have "the" buyer show up the next minute and be done with it. Buyers would ALSO like to find "the" deal and buy it asap, without spending hours looking.
Unfortunately there is a lot of people out there looking to screw others...whether sellers or buyers....hence what you have experienced.
If you use email for ads you dont have to reply to those who you feel are asking silly question.
I dont know why anyone would insist on getting phone calls in regards to an ad placed NATIONALLY but some do.
Just my two.
