90 wt. vs. A/T oil: 833
« on: April 07, 2009 - 12:29:40 AM »
Long time ago I ran 90 weight in my 833. Then later on I heard A/T oil was supposed to be used.

Any reason why you shouldn't use 90 wt. in a 833? Or is it actually better than A/T oil? It's not cold here and never snows.

I always used 90 weight and never had a problem.  I wouldn't tempt the fates.  However, TTM would be the best resource to answer this question.

Alan & I had this discussion a few months ago.. He has literature that states runs 90 wt.
In my '73 Dodge Service Manual it calls for Dextron ATF... Probably can't go wrong with the 90 wt in warm climate

I have seen in the manual where is said to use ATF in cold climates , the best I did was mix 90w & ATF 5o/50 & I live in a Cold climate . where you are I would only use 90w
