Manual steering box.
« on: April 08, 2009 - 11:39:20 PM »
I was looking to replace the worm gear in my original manual box but was told not to bother with it since it was too much work & it would be cheaper to just replace the whole thing. I was told that Checkers & Auto zone should carry the original replacement box. I've called both Checkers & Auto zone and was told that they don't shown any manual steering boxes for the '73 Cuda. The kid at the counter told me that if I could provide him with the parts #, he could run a cross check through the book. Can any one PLEASE provide me the #, the manual that I've got does not shown any...Thanks in advance you guys!!! :2thumbs:
My lugnuts require more TQ than your ricer produces!!!

 :iagree:

Changing the worm gear isn't all that hard, if you want to change the bearings too thats a little more involved but still not that difficult if you're at all mechanically inclined. I bought the 20:1 gear that Mancini is selling now, awesome price on it too with it being on sale.
