Author Topic: Dash lightbulb covers.....not sure what they are called. (Read 797 times)

Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding the warning lights on the dash of my 71 chally. The lights work however the dash itself is missing the covers that cause the lights to look red in color when they light up. I hope this makes sense as I am not sure what they are called. I am curious if these are sold anywhere or if someone has found an alternative to replacing them?

Currently, some of mine are missing so when the bulb lights up, I literally see the bulb rather than the light shinning through the cover. Hope this makes sense.....

I think they are just a plastic disc that snaps into the position. you could probably approximate a copy with a trip to a sign shop and a small scrap of plastic. Other alternative for some of those small bayonet type bulbs is to buy a colored unit froma local parts chain. Many of them offer them in blue, green, red and yellow.
