Can I just remove the rear shackles and get the rear end out?
Or does the entire leaf spring assembly need to come out?

You can do both but it's easiest to take the leafs out that way you can take everything out as a complete unit. Good Luck.

I would just drop the rear of the leafs & roll the diff out
