Thanks for the info Changin Gears. That's what I thought, but too busy to pull out the books.
Hey just a question?? Why would you change out the XHD springs. I've them in my cars. The ride height is good and the ride feels great.
The ride was good but the springs were starting to bend backwards at the front eye. very cheap steel or not hardened correctly. I'll upload some pics.
Here are my Cheap MP XHD Springs- Bent Backwards
Left one
Right One isn't so bad because the second spring is closer to the eye. But if the left one is cheap metal, the right one will be too.
Side view--TOO LOW
Got some B-body springs, friend said "same length". I found out 1" too long. Here spring and rear shackle is bottomed out on bumper guard.
CAR SITS TOO HIGH.
Pulled my 2nd leaf out of a set of old E-Body springs and installed them on another old set, right below the second spring.
Now cars sits level where I like it.
Here it is without any air in the shocks.
After swapping the springs out twice over 2 weekends, I think I'll paint them later.
These wheels are 15x10 with a 295-50 tire for sizing in the pics.
I'll never tell anyone to buy these springs except for the guy that buys them from me. :bigsmile
