My fish got her first bath since being painted (by the previous owner) yesterday....after sitting in my garage for 3 months during various stages of work, she was getting grimy.....
Also figured I would water test the car before installing carpet......
She leaked at a few places I figured....drivers side where the front and rear windows meet (they dont quite line up) for one.....also got some water into the body below the rear windows....the whiskers are bad so that makes sense.....
But I also got water leaks at two other spots: into the trunk, where it looks like it is coming from the lower corner of the rear window on the driver's side, and into the front of the car at the passenger side front corner, I think from the lower corner of the windshield.
There is a gap between the chrome trim and the glass , front and rear..........is there supposed to be a bead of something there (there isnt) or do I have bigger issues? In another thread I read about urethane in a tube....is that what is missing?
I found a tube of the stuff at the local parts store, but was told you need a special type of caulk gun for it.....
I using black silicon acceptable or is the urtehane the best way to go?
