I stay in Barstow at the Best Western when I work in Boron.  If you have been to Boron, you'd love staying at Barstow instead.

The problem with Barstow is that it's in California. The problem with California is that it is run by idiots.

In California's defense, all states are run by idiots. You find me a state the spends money properly and I will find you a liar. Ha ha.

Montana. One of the few states not in the red. I've lived in CA nearly 30 years (never more than a mile from the beach!) . California is truly an ungovernable state. The democrats have a lock on the legislature, and the unions (teachers, public employee) have the dems in their hip pockets. Other states are probably as screwed up also, (MA, VT) but its worse because CA is so big, and is a bellweather state. I have a second home in Montana, and look forward to exiting CA as soon as my finances and family matters permit.

Barstow is way hot most of the year. I can't handle living in conditioned spaces like that so I'd have to pass.

Put in a good word for the offroaders if you do take the job though. We pay alot of saleries you know.

As for the current government, they have cooked their own (golden) goose and won't be around for long. It's just not sustainable in my opinion.
